What if I can’t afford to pay my WVU Medicine bill?
We understand that medical expenses can be overwhelming, and WVU Medicine is committed to helping patients who may be struggling financially. If you’re unable to pay for some or all of your care, you may qualify for WVU Medicine’s Financial Assistance Program, which offers free or discounted care based on your household income and financial situation.
Our financial counselors are also available to guide you through applications for state or federal programs that may help with healthcare costs. In addition, WVU Medicine offers interest-free payment plans, starting as low as $25 a month, with flexible terms to make your balance more manageable.
Keep in mind:
-
You can apply for financial assistance at any point — before, during, or after receiving care.
-
Payment plans can only be set up after you’ve received your first bill.
If you think you may need help, we encourage you to contact the WVU Medicine billing office or visit the Financial Assistance page to learn more and start the application process.
